Semester Grade Calculator
Combine your marking-period grades and final exam into one semester grade. Default weights match the common 40% / 40% / 20% split — change them to fit your school.
How the semester grade is computed
semester = Σ(grade × weight) ÷ Σ(weight)
Most US high schools weight each quarter at 40% and the final exam at 20%. With Q1 = 85, Q2 = 88 and final = 80: (85×40 + 88×40 + 80×20) ÷ 100 = (3400 + 3520 + 1600) ÷ 100 = 85.2%.
Different weighting?
Some schools use 45/45/10 or treat the semester as two equal quarters with no separate final. Just edit the weight boxes — they are normalised, so they do not have to sum to 100.
Frequently asked questions
