Final Grade Percentage Calculator

Add up every part of your course — homework, quizzes, the midterm, the final — with each part's score and weight, and see your overall percentage and letter grade for the term.

Each row is one grade category. Enter its score (%) and the weight it carries (%). Weights are normalised, so they need not add to exactly 100.

The formula

overall = Σ(score × weight) ÷ Σ(weight)

Multiply each category's score by its weight, add the products, then divide by the total weight. Example: Homework 92% (20), Quizzes 85% (20), Midterm 78% (25), Final 88% (35) → (92×20 + 85×20 + 78×25 + 88×35) ÷ 100 = 8570 ÷ 100 = 85.7%, a B.

This page tells you the grade you already have from completed work. If instead you want to know what score you still need on an upcoming final to hit a target, use the final grade calculator.

Frequently asked questions

What if my weights don't add to 100?

That's fine — the result is normalised by dividing by the total weight you entered. This is handy mid-term when some categories aren't graded yet.

How do I leave out a category I haven't done?

Set its weight to 0, or delete the row by clearing both fields. Only weighted categories count.

How do I get the letter grade?

The result shows it automatically using the common US scale. The full table is on the grade converter.
